McDonald's

McDonald's is a large multinational restaurant chain in the world. It was founded in Chicago in 1955 and has about 30,000 branches in the world. It mainly sells hamburgers, French fries, chicken, soda, ice, salad, fruit and other fast food.

McDonald's restaurant was translated as "MacDonald's Fast Food" in mainland China in the early days, but it was not until later that the current Hong Kong-style translation was adopted uniformly. In the folk, because of the close pronunciation of McDonald's and "Peony House", Peony House is also regarded as a nickname of McDonald's, but it is not common.

McDonald's, with about 32,000 outlets in 119 countries on six continents, represents an American lifestyle in many countries. As the first and largest fast food chain in the world, McDonald's has become the focus of public discussion on food-related obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility, representing the fast-food culture, accused of affecting public health, such as high calorie-related obesity, and lack of adequate balanced nutrition. Many people criticize it as junk food. France is proud of its catering culture. Many people are hostile to McDonald's and regard it as a representative of the invasion of American lifestyle. In the United States, there is a McDonald's near every highway exit. In addition, it provides wireless Internet service. McDonald's Happy Paradise meals are free toys, such as Disney movie character dolls, which are attractive to children.

On August 23, 2017, McDonald's announced that it would require broiler suppliers worldwide to phase out human antibiotics in 2018 to prevent more superbugs.

On December 18, 2018, McDonald's ranked 10th in the "Top 500 World Brands 2018" compiled by the World Brand Laboratory.
